Sale-A-Bration is coming to an end

I just want to make sure that no one misses the end of Sale-A-Bration. It will end on February 28th. That is just a little over a week away. This is a change for those of us that have been around Stampin’ UP! for a long time. They have cut it short by a month. I just don’t want anyone to miss out on any of the items that are exclusive to Sale-A-Bration. I have really enjoyed the stamp sets I have gotten out of Sale-A-Bration. I loved the Darling Donkey’s Set. It is just so cute and versatile. I have used it in several projects already and know it will not stay on my shelf once Sale-A-Bration ends.

I also really love the A Touch of Ink Stamp set that is another of the Sale-A-Bration exclusive stamp sets. The butterfly and hummingbird were two images that just stole my heart. I haven’t had the time to make a lot of cards using this set yet but I know it will be one that I use any time I want to really make a card that wow someone. I have to admit this hummingbird card is one of my favorites.

I also love how Sale-A-Bration can really allow someone new to stamping really get a lot of supplies for a reasonable beginning investment. The Sweet Strawberry Bundle from the current Mini Catalog paired with the Berry Blessing Bundle from the Sale-a-Bration catalog really gives a new Stamper a lot of options. My earlier post New Stamper Strawberry Bundle outlines how for a little over $100 someone could get started stamping with these two bundles and they could make some really beautiful cards. I know I have just touched the tip of the iceberg with the cards I have made using this bundle.

If you aren’t ready to start designing your own cards all the time or you have been seeing my Paper Pumpkin posts and have been thinking about giving those a try now is a great time to get all the benefits of Paper Pumpkin and Sale-A-Bration. You can utilize the pre-paid paper pumpkin subscriptions and pick items from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. This chart shows you just what you can earn from Sale-A-Bration with each of the Subscriptions. You can also add a few items like adhesives or tools to reach the next reward level.

Sale-A-Bration is such a great time to get started with Stampin’ UP!. I just don’t want anyone to miss out. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or if you are on the fence. I would be happy to talk to you. Just don’t wait till it is too late. February 28th will be here before we know it.

A Touch of Ink — Hummingbird Card

I have always loved hummingbirds. They remind me of my Grandma and Grandpa. For as long as I can remember they always had a hummingbird feeder on their back porch. I can only remember seeing a handful of hummingbirds at the feeder but that is what made it so special it was a rare beautiful sight. For me the Hummingbird image in A Touch of Ink Stamp Set brings back all those special memories. I knew I wanted to make a card as special as my memories are and I finally managed to do that.

I had some Calypso Coral Cardstock left on my desk from the Post-it Note Holder project and that fit perfectly with the Stampin Blends that I had in Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green. I pulled a sheet of Granny Apple Green DSP out of the Brights 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. As I wanted this to be a special card, I decided to use a very different layout for me. To achieve this layout I removed 3 inches from the 11″ x 4 1/4″ strip of Calypso Coral Card stock I am using for the base and then used that section turned sideways to create the card front. This layout then reveals part of what is traditionally the inside of the card. I love how this adds to the illusion that the hummingbird is actually inflight with branches in the background.

I added some small pearls and a piece of retired Calypso Coral ribbon to finish the card. I have created a How to PDF that gives you all the details on how to recreate this card. I also created a video that shows how easy it really is to make this beautiful card.

If you as captivated by the Touch of Ink Stamp Set as I am please don’t wait this is a limited addition Sale-A-Bration exclusive stamp set. The only way you can get the stamp set is to order $100 in Stampin’ UP! products and select the Touch of Ink Stamp Set as your free gift from Stampin’ UP!. I would be happy to help you put together an order today.

Hey Chick Bundles

If you love chicks and chickens then Stampin’ UP! has come out with the stamp set for you. Stampin’ Up has brought back the Hey Chick Stamp set, a 2017 Sale-A-Bration set, and paired it with a set of dies. If that isn’t enough they have created a 2nd Chicken inspired set call the Hey Birthday Chick Stamp set and are releasing a set of coordinating dies to go with this Stamp set as well.

These playful images are so fun to stamp. You’ll love sending the punny cards you make to all your friends. These sets are only available for a limited time so don’t wait to order yours as supplies could run out.

What’s better than a new stamp set with a coordinating die set? When those new sets are bundled together and are on sale. These stamp sets and dies are only available in the bundles which are priced at 10% off.

Two Step Stamping

If you haven’t figured out already that part of the reason I am involved in stamping and one of the biggest reasons I am doing this blog is that I love educating people. I recently did a FaceBook live going over the different types of stamps that Stampin’ Up! makes. Stampin’ Up! makes a lot of two step stamps. These are stamps that have two different images that when combined they make a more complete image. This usually means that there is one stamp that is more solid that will add color to the image that is than paired with a 2nd image that adds an outline and details to the image.

The video below shows how easy it is to use two step stamping and shows the type of image you can get from two step stamping. I am using the A Touch of Ink stamp set to demonstrate this technique.

Here are some more examples using this set.

If you like two step stamping check out my post New Stamper Strawberry Bundle where you can see more examples using two step stamps.

Remember if you place any online orders with Stampin’ UP! please use the January Hostess Code SEFKD7DG. Anyone using the code and placing an order of $25 or move will receive a thank you gift from me.

New Stamper Strawberry Bundle

One thing that I hear from people a lot is I can’t make cards/paper crafts like you do I don’t have all the tools or it would cost too much to get started. Well I have a solution to those arguments. I have put together along with Stampin’ Up’s help with Sale-A-Bration a way for someone to get started stamping and paper crafting for $100.75 plus tax and shipping (sorry can’t get rid of those added costs but even with those it comes to $116.87 if I did my math right).

How can this be possible you ask? Well if there is a bargain to be had my sister will find it and she did just that look through the January – June Mini catalog and the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. Erin spotted the Sweet Strawberry Bundle (156214) which features the Sweet Strawberry Stamp set and the Strawberry builder punch. These bundles from Stampin’ Up! automatically save you 10% over buying the items separately.

She then noticed that one of the Free Sala-A-Bration picks Berry Blessing Stamp Set and Berry Delightful Designer Series paper (157613) coordinates with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle. This Sale-a-Bration bundle gives you both another stamp set to use and some great Designer Series Paper to create cards with. Don’t you agree?

The only thing left was to pull together the remaining supplies that someone absolutely must have to make cards. My list really was shorter than I thought and includes the Paper Trimmer (152392), Stampin’ Seal (152813), Stampin Dimensionals (104430), Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes (159232), and the Classic Stampin Spots Assortment (153183).

Now because I love stamping and paper crafting and want to see more people find the joy I have in these endeavors I am going to complete the required materials with a couple of gifts. I will provide a clear block to use with the stamps and an assortment of coordinating card stock (equal to 14 sheets). This will be more than enough supplies to make 20 cards with supplies left over. I would also love to connect with anyone that orders this bundle and help you get started with card ideas or just general tips as you begin your stamping journey.

Here are a few of the cards I came up with when I played with these exact products.

If this bundle has convinced you that stamping is worth trying you can contact me directly and I can help you order all the items. If you are more independent you can go directly to the Stampin’ Up! web site and use the items numbers I have included in this post and place the order yourself. Just remember to select me as your demonstrator and use the current host code for January SEFKD7DG. Then please contact me so I can make sure to get your free gifts to you. I am looking forward to stamping with you in the future.
