Sigma Alpha Online Fundraiser

I am participating in an Online fundraiser for my sorority the Gamma Chapter of Sigma Alpha.

Sigma Alpha

The way it works is anyone can email me at onealj04@gmail.com and place a Stampin’ Up order between now and the 15th of November.  For every order placed, I will give the Gamma Chapter of Sigma Alpha 10% of the dollar value of the order placed for starters and if I receive over $600 in orders I will give Sigma Alpha 15% of all orders placed.  You can order anything from the Annual Catalog or the Holiday Catalog.  See the side bar of my blog for links to all the current catalogs.  You just need to let me know what you want to order and that you want your order to help support Sigma Alpha.  All orders placed before the 15th should be received before Thanksgiving.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

We want your kit ideas for upcoming kits. No, this is not a typo. We are starting up a new kit program especially for you. YOU will be the inspiration for the kits and YOU will vote to decide which project will be sold.

Submit a Project is not limited to demonstrators, so spread the word to your downlines, clubs, classes and neighbors  to submit and vote on upcoming kits. This is a great way to get the entire stamping community together. Start creating! Send us your kit ideas and get ready to vote for your favorites .

Easy Events Merry Christmas Card

Sorry this is so late today.  I got behind and have not been able to get caught up and now my internet is down so I am forced to post from my phone.  I am not sure if I am ever going to get caught up and back to posting in the am or not.   The only thing I know is that I am going to keep posting no matter what.  I am enjoying designing and sharing my cards with you and a little of my life as well.  I just need to build some more customers so that I can have my passion help support my family.

Ok on to today’s card.  I received a shipment from Stampin’ Up with some of the Core’dinations Card Stock in Cherry Cobbler from the Holiday catalog and the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder. I couldn’t wait to try these two things together. The Core’dinations Card Stock is essentially two toned paper with a lighter tone inside. To bring the two tones out I first embossed the paper using the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder and then took my sanding block and sanded the top of the paper until I was happy with the look. When I showed the paper to my mom she said “it feels like velvet”. I then took my circle punch and punched a 2 1/2″ circle out of Gumball Green. I am using the easy events stamp set again and stamped the Merry Christmas image on Whisper White in Gumball Green. I colored the berries using my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker. I decided to use my Blender Pen and my Gumball Green ink pad to get a lighter shade of green and have the outline of the leaves show through. I punched the design out using my 2 3/8″ scalloped circle punch. I attached the Whisper White piece to the Gumball Green circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then used some of the 3/8″ Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon to balance the card. I added a little ribbon knot as well. I used Gumball Green again for the card itself.

I hope you enjoyed this Christmas Card. See you tomorrow with more Christmas, new products and a new stamp set.

Another Brown and Pink “for baby” Card

I wanted to share the other card that I designed while working on my entry for the Less is More Brown and Pink Color Challenge from yesterday.  This was actually the first card that I designed but once I finished it and looked at the rules again for the challenge I decided I needed to go back to the designing table.  This card also used the Top Note die cut but I use the whole top note on this card rather than just half of the top note.  I also choose to use Whisper White as my card base and add the Pink Pirouette as a layer under the soft suede top note.  All the layering didn’t fit the rules of the challenge but I think this card is more my normal style.  I do think this card is more simplistic than some of my other cards.  The ribbon is my only embellishment and no embossing.  I like the card because it is simple and sometimes less really is more.  It was also a very quick card to make as there were not a lot of fussy elements and sometimes we all need quick and easy.

Here is my supply list for this project.  All items listed are from Stampin’ Up and include their item numbers.

Stamp Set: Easy Events Wood #116958 — Clear #123225 (This is my Stamp Set of the Month for September.)

Ink: Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad #126978, Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker #119703 (this number is for the Neutrals pack of 8 markers), So Saffron Stampin’ Write Markers #119700 (this number is for the Subtles pack of 10 markers), Pink Pirouette Stampin Write Markers #119700 (this number is for the Subtles pack of 10 markers), Marina Mist Stampin’ Write Markers #119679, Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Markers #105115

Card Stock:  Pink Pirouette #111351, Soft Suede #115318, Whisper White #100730

Tools/Accessories: Top Note Bigz Die#115463, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine #113439, Sticky Strip #104294, Glue Dots #103683, SNAIL Adhesive #104332, Stampin Dimensionals #104430, Anywhere Glue stick #104045, 5/8″ Organza Ribbon Whisper White # 114319 (I used 5/8″ Satin Ribbon in Whisper White which is now retired but the Organza Ribbon would give you the same look.), Corner Rounder Punch #119871

I hope you enjoyed seeing  this Pink and Brown Baby Card and how small changes can make a completely different card.  See you again tomorrow.
