Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share this card with you that is slightly different from some of my normal cards but it was made with a very specific person in mind and was well received. I made this card for my sister’s office who needed a card for a staff member who was leaving after working for the company for a number of years. The person who the card was made for favorite colors are red and black so that is where I started along with a sentiment that seemed appropriate as she was not leaving to retire but for personal reasons.
I utilized Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, and Basic Grey for my card stock and then used the Regals Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks. I also used 3/16″ brads in basic black and the 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon in Riding Hood Red. I used my largest circle punch and largest scallop circle punch as well as the Appothecary Accents Framelits and the coordinating Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, This card really is about creating repeating layers of color and shapes as I have the colors repeated in the rectangle layers as well as the round layers in the center.
This card design would work well for a mascaline card as well and could easily be personalized with simple color changes. I want to make more cards using this design for my personal card box. I am trying to keep cards on hand so that I can easily send cards out to people when they need a little pick me up or I just want to let them know I am thinking about them. Social Media lets us stay connected with what is going on in friends and families lives but I think a hand made card sent through the mail really makes people feel special and cared for.
