Follow Your Heart Farewell Card

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to share this card with you that is slightly different from some of my normal cards but it was made with a very specific person in mind and was well received.  I made this card for my sister’s office who needed a card for a staff member who was leaving after working for the company for a number of years.  The person who the card was made for favorite colors are red and black so that is where I started along with a sentiment that seemed appropriate as she was not leaving to retire but for personal reasons.

I utilized Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, and Basic Grey for my card stock and then used the Regals Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks.  I also used 3/16″ brads in basic black and the 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon in Riding Hood Red.  I used my largest circle punch and largest scallop circle punch as well as the Appothecary Accents Framelits and the coordinating Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack,  This card really is about creating repeating layers of color and shapes as I have the colors repeated in the rectangle layers as well as the round layers in the center.

This card design would work well for a mascaline card as well and could easily be personalized with simple color changes.  I want to make more cards using this design for my personal card box.  I am trying to keep cards on hand so that I can easily send cards out to people when they need a little pick me up or I just want to let them know I am thinking about them.  Social Media lets us stay connected with what is going on in friends and families lives but I think a hand made card sent through the mail really makes people feel special and cared for.

Owl Occasions Birthday Card

Hello Everyone,

I am still trying to get my posts more regular.  I will eventually get this all figured out.  I do have lots that I want to share with you all.  I have been busy making cards so I have lots to share I just need to get the posts completed so I can share them with you all.  Stampin’ Up is also doing lots of great stuff and I am trying to keep that information updated as well so be sure and check out the sidebars of my blog site as well for the information on what promotions Stampin’ Up is running.

This card is a fun one.  I needed a birthday card for a girl who was turning 15.  I wanted to use bright colors and cute designs that would appeal to a teenager.  The Owl Occasions set from the Holiday Catalog is a very versatile set that can be used for people of all ages depending on your color choices.  I have several cards made with this set that you will be seeing in the near future.  I also used the Big Shot with the Apothecary Accents Framelits and my 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle punch to add to the card.  The ribbon is the 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon in Midnight Muse.  My Color choices are from the 2012-2014 In Color colors.  I find that the in color colors are usually on the hipper side and I tend to use them more when designing for the younger crowd.

Here is my supply list for this project.  All items listed are from Stampin’ Up and include their item numbers.

Gift Tag Make and Take

I think I am going to be ready for the craft show.  My project for today is the make and take I am going to have for people that visit my booth at the craft show.

I needed something that took no prep work on my part and something that was quick to make.  I came up with a gift tag made with no cutting just punches.  I also used the East Events Stamp Set.  I layered 4 layers of punched circles, flowers, and scalloped circles together all in coordinating colors.  I made sure my last layer was a light enough shade to make writing on it easy to read.  I finished the gift tag by punching a slot and threading the stitched satin ribbon in Gumball Green through and tying a knot.  The ribbon is on special this month free with a $40 purchase.

The colors I used were Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, and Gumball Green. I used Gumball Green to stamp the image and then my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to color the berries and then my blender pen and Gumball Green ink pad to to color the leaves. If you remember my post on the Easy Events Christmas card I made this card using the left overs from that card. These pieces were from ideas that I had and that I tried and then decided I liked something better. I never throw anything away if I could possibly use it in someway on another project.

Here is my supply list for this project.  All items listed are from Stampin’ Up and include their item numbers.

Easy Events Merry Christmas Card

Sorry this is so late today.  I got behind and have not been able to get caught up and now my internet is down so I am forced to post from my phone.  I am not sure if I am ever going to get caught up and back to posting in the am or not.   The only thing I know is that I am going to keep posting no matter what.  I am enjoying designing and sharing my cards with you and a little of my life as well.  I just need to build some more customers so that I can have my passion help support my family.

Ok on to today’s card.  I received a shipment from Stampin’ Up with some of the Core’dinations Card Stock in Cherry Cobbler from the Holiday catalog and the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder. I couldn’t wait to try these two things together. The Core’dinations Card Stock is essentially two toned paper with a lighter tone inside. To bring the two tones out I first embossed the paper using the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder and then took my sanding block and sanded the top of the paper until I was happy with the look. When I showed the paper to my mom she said “it feels like velvet”. I then took my circle punch and punched a 2 1/2″ circle out of Gumball Green. I am using the easy events stamp set again and stamped the Merry Christmas image on Whisper White in Gumball Green. I colored the berries using my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker. I decided to use my Blender Pen and my Gumball Green ink pad to get a lighter shade of green and have the outline of the leaves show through. I punched the design out using my 2 3/8″ scalloped circle punch. I attached the Whisper White piece to the Gumball Green circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then used some of the 3/8″ Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon to balance the card. I added a little ribbon knot as well. I used Gumball Green again for the card itself.

I hope you enjoyed this Christmas Card. See you tomorrow with more Christmas, new products and a new stamp set.

I will post my supply list when I can get on a computer again.
